Anatomy in Motion

The human body is the ultimate healer. When moving functionally, the body repairs itself. If it does not move as designed, issues emerge. Our most common daily movement is walking. So we help or impair our body with every step we take.

By helping you bring your own body into alignment, and move with better function, we create an environment in which healing begins.

Sessions include evaluating how your body moves in three planes of movement. We determine which movements flow naturally and which are missing. Helping you regain movements that you have lost, can shift how your entire body moves. Muscular imbalances will transform, relaxing overworked muscles or waking up dormant ones.

A unique aspect of the AiM work is taking the movement into the feet. If every joint in the body needs to move with each step, then all 26 bones in the foot need to move. An immobile joint anywhere (including the foot) will disrupt the sequence of joint movements throughout the body. So AiM work often uses the feet for checking in as well as changing how we walk.

EPY’s AiM (Anatomy in Motion) program is flexible to help your body respond to the work at its own pace. The program is designed to be flexible over time. Home practice is requested and may spread out sessions. Any combination of in-studio and online (Zoom) sessions are available.
